The future is created by our actions in the present
When set our intention — desire without attachment to outcome — the universe will take care of the rest.
The Fearless Journeys group trip to Argentina is currently going great! We are connecting with many innovators here in Buenos Aires this week as we learn to tango, play polo, and explore all the culinary delights that this amazing city has to offer. I guess you can say we are enjoying life in the present. Keep up with us by following my Instagram stories @fearlessjourneysFG
Throughout the months of March and April, we are dedicating this Fearless Journeys book club to gaining insights from Deepak Chopra’s classic work, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Today’s review covers the subject of Chapter 5: The Law of Intention and Desire.

Sometimes when I or others start talking about the power of setting an intention, some people’s eyes glaze over. Deepak Chopra tells us right from the start of this chapter that setting an intention and letting its organizing power go to work for us “isn’t a mystical notion.”
Think about it.
“Energy and information exist everywhere in nature; at the level of pure consciousness, there is nothing other than energy and information,” he says.
This fifth law of spiritual success says that “inherent in every desire are the mechanics for its fulfillment, and these mechanics apply to desires reaching far beyond the physical body.”
Let’s take one step further in understanding this.
“We can consciously change the energy and information of our own body, and influence the energy and information of our extended body — our environment — and cause things to manifest in it.”
Chopra says “this change is brought about by two qualities inherent in consciousness: attention and intention.”
Attention energizes.
Intention transforms.
In the scheme of nature, everything is connected and correlated with everything else.
Trees need rain to grow — and to not catch on fire. We need trees for many reasons, including oxygen and air quality. And these days — trees need us: to plant, grow, and conserve.
During different seasons birds migrate in a different direction.
Take one animal or species out of the food chain, and it’s very disruptive way down the line.
The point is: everything in nature is connected and we are a part of nature.
“As long as we do not violate the other laws of nature, we can use conscious intent to literally command the powers of nature to fulfill our dreams.”
Intention is the real power behind desire — because it is desire without attachment to the outcome.
“When we combine attention with detachment, our intent is for the future, while our attention is in the present.'“
“The future is created by our actions in the present. We cannot take action in the past or in the future.” Powerful!
When we practice present-moment awareness, then imaginary obstacles (which are 90% of obstacles) disappear and it allows us to focus on the remaining obstacles — which can be transformed into opportunities through one-pointed intention.
We refuse to allow obstacles to consume our attention.
Think about all the things that provoke fear, that give you anxiety, that you may spend time worrying about. Fear is often what prevents people from doing things they really want to. But when we think about what Chopra is saying: 90% of the obstacles we think we have are imaginary — fostered by fear.
Those obstacles only exist in your head because you are not fully focused on the present. Remember: actions can only be taken in the present. When we set our intention — desire without attachment to outcome — the universe will take care of the rest.

Deepack Chopra gives us five steps in the Law of Intention and Desire that will generate its own power for us:
Center yourself in the silent space between your thoughts — in the essential state of Being. Take a few minutes each day, or longer if possible, to just meditate. Let your thoughts drift away and just center yourself on your own Being.
Make a list of your intentions and desires and look at this list before you go into silence, before you go to sleep at night, and when you wake up in the morning. Release your intentions and desires with the expectation that they will bloom when the season is right.
Keep your desires to yourself; do not share them with anyone else unless they are closely bonded with you.
Relinquish your attachment to the outcome.
Let the universe handle the details.
